In our continuing commitment to sharing our passion and helping up-and-coming Aussie metalworkers and coachbuilders, we held another one of our weekend class last month at our Sydney headquarters in Northmead.
As always, we were joined by the super talented Ayden Hunt from the ACT’s Bespoke Coach Works. And for this class we were lucky enough to be supplied with an army of power hammer models from Hare & Forbes/Machinery House.
With a full class of 12 students, we were lucky enough to have six different models of Hare & Forbes’ MetalMaster Power Hammers to work with. This included a prototype machine with an impressive 30″ deep throat. MotoRRetro is currently working with Hare & Forbes to perfect the machine’s design and it’s official launch is planned for Spring 2023.
The other machines on offer were all set up to a range of different jobs, including shrinking, planishing, linear stretching and even some custom nylon dies made by the students. Of course, this amount of machines not only ensures that all the students can maximise their hands-on experience in the class, but it also gives them a good breadth of experience with the different process that each machine is capable of.
